On Monday, US President Joe Biden expressed his thoughts on India’s stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Biden was speaking at the Business Roundtable’s CEO Quarterly Meeting at White House.

The President had said that while some nations of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) have responded strongly to Russia’s deed, India’s actions have been somewhat shaky. “In the Pacific, the Quad is — with the possible exception of India being somewhat shaky on some of this — but Japan has been extremely strong so is Australia in terms of dealing with Putin’s aggression,” said the president.

Biden has further stated that NATO & the Quad have strongly opposed Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s offence against Ukraine.

“When Putin began amassing troops along the Ukrainian border, I called for an emergency meeting of Nato in Europe to make the case that we had to be united. The one thing I’m confident — knowing Putin fairly well, as well as I, guess another leader can know one another — is that he was counting on being able to split Nato,” said President Biden.

India has called for peace between the two countries but has abstained to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in the UNSC. As per the reports Russia has also helped in bringing back stranded Indian students & nationals from Ukraine.
