Indian equity benchmarks were trading in positive territory at midday (as of 12:09 PM), with the Nifty 50 at 24,454.55, up 0.41%, and the BSE Sensex at 78,862.72, higher by 0.47%. Despite the broader market gains, several frontline stocks were under pressure during the session.
Among the top laggards on the Nifty 50 index, Jio Financial Services declined 1.9% to ₹239.3, emerging as the biggest loser in midday trade.
Hindalco Industries slipped 1.8% to ₹1020.2, while HDFC Life Insurance fell 1.1% to ₹609.7.
Engineering major Larsen & Toubro dropped 0.7% to ₹4066.2. Auto stock Tata Motors was down 0.6% at ₹358.0.
IT firm Wipro also declined 0.6% to ₹203.1, while jewellery-to-watchmaker Titan Company slipped 0.6% to ₹4500.0.
Banking stock Kotak Mahindra Bank edged lower by 0.6% to ₹381.5. In the pharmaceutical space, Cipla fell 0.5% to ₹1234.8.
Meanwhile, Bharat Electronics traded 0.4% lower at ₹461.0, rounding off the list of key losers during the session.
