The benchmark indices remained largely flat in today’s session, with the Nifty 50 closing at 24,364.85, up 11.30 points or 0.05%. The BSE Sensex ended at 78,520.30, rising 26.76 points or 0.03%, while the Nifty Bank closed marginally higher by 0.03% at 56,582.35. The Nifty Midcap Select underperformed, slipping 0.23%.
Despite the muted broader market movement, select stocks in the Nifty 50 index recorded gains during the session.
Trent led the gainers, closing at ₹4,235.10, up 3.1%. JSW Steel followed with a gain of 2.8% to close at ₹1,275.00. State Bank of India rose 2.2% to settle at ₹1,104.00.
Asian Paints ended 1.9% higher at ₹2,510.00, while NTPC gained 1.2% to close at ₹398.40. Grasim Industries also moved up 1.2%, ending at ₹2,752.00.
Among other gainers, Bajaj Finance rose 0.9% to ₹916.20. Tata Consumer Products advanced 0.7% to ₹1,121.00. Coal India added 0.7% to close at ₹441.80, and InterGlobe Aviation edged up 0.7% to ₹4,670.00.
Overall, the gains remained limited and stock-specific, with the broader indices showing a largely range-bound trend through the session.
