Indian equity benchmarks traded higher in the morning session on March 5, with the NIFTY 50 and BSE Sensex posting modest gains. As of 10:40 AM IST, the NIFTY was trading at 24,613.20, up 132.70 points or 0.54%, while the Sensex stood at 79,461.22, higher by 345.03 points or 0.44%.

Despite the broader market trading in the green, several large-cap stocks from the Nifty 50 index were under pressure during the session.

HCL Technologies emerged as the top loser among Nifty 50 constituents, trading at ₹1,342.6, down 1.6% from the previous close.

Shares of Eternal were also among the major decliners, trading at ₹237.3, lower by 1.4%.

InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, slipped 1.2% to ₹4,338.5 in morning trade.

IT major Tata Consultancy Services declined 1.2%, with the stock trading at ₹2,556.5.

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever was down 1.1% at ₹2,237.6 during the session.

Meanwhile, Nestlé India slipped 1.0% to ₹1,232.5, while HDFC Life Insurance also declined 1.0% to ₹677.6.

Among IT stocks, Infosys traded 1.0% lower at ₹1,294.8.

Paint manufacturer Asian Paints fell 0.9% to ₹2,264.4, while Adani Enterprises was also down 0.9%, trading at ₹2,058.1.

The decline in these stocks came even as the broader market indices maintained gains in the morning session.
