Despite weakness in the broader market on Wednesday, several Nifty 50 stocks traded in the green during midday trade. As of 12:20 PM IST on March 11, benchmark indices were under pressure, with Nifty at 24,021.60, down 240.00 points or 0.99%, while the Sensex declined 868.48 points or 1.11% to 77,337.50. Bank Nifty also slipped 1.45% to 56,124.55, and the Midcap Nifty index was down 0.74% at 13,112.20.
Amid the broader decline, a handful of Nifty 50 constituents recorded gains during the session.
Jio Financial Services emerged as the top gainer among Nifty 50 stocks, trading at ₹240.4, up 1.8% in midday trade.
Coal India was also higher, rising 1.8% to ₹451.4.
NTPC traded at ₹383.3, gaining 1.6% during the session.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone moved up 1.4% to ₹1,443.3.
Among IT stocks, Wipro advanced 1.3% to ₹203.5, while Tech Mahindra gained 0.9% to ₹1,348.8.
In the pharmaceutical segment, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories rose 1.3% to ₹1,331.2, while Sun Pharmaceutical Industries traded 1.2% higher at ₹1,834.1.
In the energy and utilities space, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation gained 1.0% to ₹272.0, while Power Grid Corporation of India was up 0.9% at ₹301.5.
These stocks were among the limited gainers within the Nifty 50 index during midday trade, even as the broader market remained under pressure.
