On Wednesday, the indices opened on positive global cues with Nifty trading around 10,100 level. At 9.36 IST, Sensex was trading green at 34,173, up 1 percent. Whereas Nifty was trading 1 percent higher at 10,113. The gains in the trading session are led mainly by financials.
Currently, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Infratel, Shree Cements, HDFC, and Kotak Mahindra are among the Nifty gainers. Meanwhile, GAIL, Tata Steel, Hero Motocorp, Tata Motors, and JSW Steel are in the lower section on Nifty 50.
Among the Sectoral indices, Nifty Auto, IT, Metal, Media, Energy, and Nifty PSE are trading lower on the red side. Nifty Bank has gained 168 points or 0.8 percent, at 9.41 IST. As reported by CNBC TV18, the petrol price has hiked by 40 paise per litre to Rs 73.40 and diesel by 45 paise per litre to Rs 71.62.

- Hero Motocorp:
The company posted a decline of 15 percent in its standalone profit at Rs 621 crore for the further quarter ended in March. This was against Rs 730.32 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. The revenue for the Jan-March quarter dropped 21 percent to stand at Rs 6,238 crore. However, the drop was mainly impacted by lower sales volumes. The company shares dropped by 2 percent in the early trade after posting weak Q4 results.
- Maruti Suzuki:
The company’s production in May was at 3,714 vehicles in comparison to 1,51,188 vehicles in May 2019.
- Gujarat Pipavav Port:
The private sector port posted a net profit for the fourth quarter ended in March at Rs 47.2 crore. This was against Rs 50.6 crore in Q4FY19. The revenue was posted at Rs 161.9 crore against Rs 180.1 crore.
- Bombay Dyeing:
It posted its profit for the fourth quarter to stand at Rs 48.57 crore compared to Rs 1,192.6 crore in the same quarter last year. The company’s revenue stood at Rs 313.10 crore against Rs 2,786.36 crore in the previous year, the same quarter.
