Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) saw its shares climb more than 3% in early trade after the company secured a major turnkey EPC contract for a 240 MW AC solar PV project in South Africa. Valued at around USD 147 million (approx. ₹1,313 crore), this deal marks SWREL’s second significant order from the country within just two months, reinforcing its strong global momentum.
This large-scale project not only highlights the company’s engineering capabilities but also strengthens its growing foothold in South Africa’s expanding renewable energy ecosystem. SWREL is now engaged in four major turnkey solar PV projects in the region, each commissioned by different developers. Two earlier projects, awarded last fiscal, have already achieved solid operational progress, helping the company build a strong on-ground presence.
