Som Distilleries & Breweries Sees Nearly 3% Uptick as Promoter Bolsters Stake Amidst Recent Income Tax Scrutiny

On November 16, shares of Som Distilleries & Breweries experienced a 1 percent gain, reaching Rs 301 per share, following the revelation from insider data that the promoter and managing director, Jagdish Kumar Arora, acquired 11,000 shares of the company at an average price of Rs 297 apiece. Arora’s increased holding in Som Distilleries now stands at 19.67 percent.

This move by the promoter to bolster their stake comes in the wake of an income tax department search conducted on the premises of Som Group of Companies nationwide, including locations in Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Indore on November 7. The tax-related scrutiny led to a cautious market sentiment, causing Som Distilleries’ stock price to dip below the Rs 300-mark.
