
Today, July 23, 2024, marked one of the busiest days ever for the National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India. The Union Budget announcement led to unprecedented activity, resulting in over 2044 crore orders, setting a new world record for any exchange. This flurry of activity translated into 25.97 crore trades in a single day.
Ashish Chauhan, NSE’s MD and CEO, shared the milestone on social media platform X, highlighting the record-breaking number of orders and trades.
This new record surpasses the previous high of 1971 crore orders on June 5, following the Assembly Election verdict, which resulted in 28.55 crore trades. That session was notable for India’s best single-day gain in over three years.
