Indian equity benchmarks ended higher for the third straight session on January 29 despite a volatile trading environment. The Sensex settled at 82,566.37, up 221.69 points or 0.27%, while the Nifty 50 closed at 25,418.90, gaining 76.15 points or 0.30%. However, several heavyweight stocks ended the session as top losers on the Nifty 50 index, closing in the red by notable margins.

Asian Paints declined 3.8% to close at ₹2,416, marking the steepest fall among index constituents.
SBI Life Insurance closed 2.8% lower at ₹1,996.3.
InterGlobe Aviation ended the session down 2.7% at ₹4,621.
Maruti Suzuki India fell 2.5% to ₹14,502.
Tata Consumer Products slipped 2.2% to close at ₹1,107.2.
Mahindra & Mahindra declined 1.9% and ended at ₹3,384.4.
Bharat Electronics closed 1.9% lower at ₹444.5.
Tata Consultancy Services finished the day down 1.7% at ₹3,144.4.
Hindustan Unilever ended 1.4% lower at ₹2,345.5.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries closed down 1.3% at ₹1,589.3.
