Indian equity indices ended lower on February 12, with the Nifty closing below the 25,850 mark amid broad-based selling pressure. The Sensex declined 558.72 points or 0.66% to settle at 83,674.92, while the Nifty fell 146.65 points or 0.57% to close at 25,807.20.
Among the major laggards, Cipla emerged as the top loser, slipping 1.5% to close at ₹1,330. The stock saw notable weakness compared to other frontline counters.
Adani Enterprises declined 1.0% to end at ₹2,211.8, extending losses during the session.
Maruti Suzuki India fell 0.6% to close at ₹15,326, tracking the broader market weakness.
InterGlobe Aviation also dropped 0.6%, settling at ₹4,982.8 by the close.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone ended 0.6% lower at ₹1,543.7.
Other stocks that finished in the red included Tata Consumer Products, down 0.3% at ₹1,149.3; Bajaj Auto, which slipped 0.3% to ₹9,840; and SBI Life Insurance, which edged lower by 0.2% to ₹2,022.1.
JSW Steel closed marginally down by 0.1% at ₹1,247.9, while Grasim Industries ended flat at ₹2,932.
