Benchmark indices ended sharply higher on Thursday, with the BSE Sensex rising 900 points, or 1.14%, to close at 80,015, while the Nifty 50 gained 285 points, or 1.17%, to settle at 24,765.

Among Nifty 50 stocks, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone was the top gainer, closing at ₹1,499.3, up 4.5%. Larsen & Toubro followed, rising 4.0% to end at ₹4,038.7.

Hindalco Industries advanced 3.6% to close at ₹955.0, while NTPC gained 3.4% to finish at ₹378.1. Reliance Industries also moved higher, ending the session at ₹1,389.4, up 3.3%.

Coal India closed at ₹449.4, up 3.3%, while Bharat Electronics added 2.9% to settle at ₹460.0. Shriram Finance gained 2.9% to close at ₹1,039.5.

Among other gainers, JSW Steel ended at ₹1,248.1, up 2.9%, while InterGlobe Aviation rose 2.7% to close at ₹4,512.8.
