Indian stock markets closed firmly higher on April 1, with benchmark indices extending gains through the session. The Nifty 50 ended at 22,679.40, up 1.56%, while the BSE Sensex rose 1.65% to settle at 73,134.32.

Against this backdrop, several stocks in the Nifty 50 index recorded notable gains, with double-digit and mid-cap heavyweights leading the move.

Trent emerged as the top gainer of the day, closing at ₹3,521.92 after a sharp 6.9% rise. The stock saw the strongest upward movement among index constituents.

InterGlobe Aviation, the parent of IndiGo, followed with a 6.1% gain, ending at ₹4,183.02. Aviation stocks featured among the session’s prominent movers.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone advanced 5.6% to close at ₹1,386.57, while Bharat Electronics rose 4.8% to ₹420.01.

Adani Enterprises also posted gains of 4.7%, finishing at ₹1,841.98.

Among banking and financial stocks, State Bank of India closed at ₹1,018.03, up 3.9%, and Jio Financial Services gained 3.5% to ₹232.07.

In the auto and capital goods space, Eicher Motors rose 3.6% to ₹6,820.02, while Larsen & Toubro ended 3.3% higher at ₹3,621.01.

Eternal also featured among the top gainers, closing at ₹236.87 with a 3.4% increase.

The gains across these stocks contributed to the Nifty closing above the 22,600 mark for the day, with broad participation seen across sectors including infrastructure, banking, aviation, and defence.
