Indian metal sector stocks surged in morning trading on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with most counters advancing while Coal India and SAIL posted losses.
Among the gainers, Hindustan Zinc led with a rise of 3.80% to ₹584.00 on BSE and 3.87% to ₹584.30 on NSE.
Hindalco advanced 3.58% to ₹1,013.00 on BSE and 3.62% to ₹1,013.65 on NSE.
Welspun Corp gained 3.58% to ₹1,043.00 on BSE and 3.64% to ₹1,042.05 on NSE.
Maithan Alloys rose 3.31% to ₹974.50 on BSE and 3.13% to ₹974.00 on NSE.
APL Apollo Tubes added 2.05% to ₹2,019.15 on BSE and 2.02% to ₹2,019.80 on NSE.
NMDC gained 1.79% to ₹87.34 on BSE and 1.72% to ₹87.29 on NSE.
NALCO rose 1.46% to ₹423.85 on BSE and 1.42% to ₹424.00 on NSE.
MOIL advanced 1.36% to ₹309.80 on BSE and 1.47% to ₹309.85 on NSE.
Tata Steel gained 1.16% to ₹208.95 on BSE and 1.25% to ₹208.98 on NSE.
JSW Steel rose 1.20% to ₹1,218.50 on BSE and 1.14% to ₹1,217.90 on NSE.
Vedanta added 0.73% to ₹758.00 on BSE and 0.64% to ₹757.40 on NSE.
Jain Resource Recycling edged up 0.05% to ₹421.45 on BSE and 0.07% to ₹421.60 on NSE.
Jindal Steel and Power gained 0.13% to ₹1,219.25 on BSE and 0.02% to ₹1,218.70 on NSE.
On the downside, SAIL declined 0.89% to ₹166.40 on BSE and 0.83% to ₹166.48 on NSE. Coal India fell 0.37% to ₹433.50 on BSE and 0.36% to ₹433.55 on NSE.
The above prices were recorded at 11:15:00 AM on BSE and 11:14:59 AM on NSE. Benchmark indices also traded higher during the session, with the Nifty 50 at 24,184.25, up 1.43%, and the S&P BSE Sensex at 77,919.58, up 1.39%.
