The indices tracking strong note on global markets opened positive with Vodafone-Idea and RIL in focus for the trading session. SGX Nifty indicated a positive opening for indices as it opened higher gaining 37 points. The market sentiment may change on announcement of Interest rates by the RBI today.
At 9:16 IST, Sensex was trading up 114.37 points or 0.30% to 37777.70, Nifty at 11132.90 up 31.25 points or 0.28%. Nifty Bank opened higher adding 32.30 points to 21542.25.HDFC Bank as the top gainer of the sector.
Previously at close the markets ended flat after early gains, Sensex was down 24.58 points or 0.07% to 37663.33 and Nifty up 6.40 points or 0.06% at 11101.65. Nifty Bank after gaining over 400 points earlier had managed to trade flat at closing, Up 19.45 points or 0.09% at 21509.95
Stocks like Vodafone Idea and RIL will be in major focus today. Vodafone Idea is scheduled to announce their quarter results for the quarter ended June 30, Reliance Industries ranked 2nd in the world on the list of the biggest brands with Apple securing the first position.
