Market capitalisation of top firms changes significantly, LIC and Infosys lead gains

During the past week, the BSE benchmark index saw an upward movement of 728.07 points, or 0.90%. LIC emerged as the standout performer, with its market valuation soaring by Rs 44,907.49 crore, reaching a new high of Rs 7,46,602.73 crore. Infosys followed closely, adding Rs 35,665.92 crore to its valuation, which now stands at Rs 7,80,062.35 crore.

Other notable gainers included ITC, whose market cap surged by Rs 35,363.32 crore to Rs 6,28,042.62 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also saw a significant increase, with its valuation climbing by Rs 30,826.1 crore to Rs 15,87,598.71 crore. Bharti Airtel’s market cap rose by Rs 30,282.99 crore, reaching Rs 8,62,211.38 crore, while HDFC Bank’s valuation grew by Rs 8,140.69 crore to Rs 12,30,842.03 crore.

Conversely, some firms experienced declines in their market valuations. Reliance Industries Ltd. saw its market cap drop by Rs 62,008.68 crore to Rs 20,41,821.06 crore, although it remains the most valuable company in the country. ICICI Bank Ltd. experienced a reduction of Rs 28,511.07 crore, bringing its market cap down to Rs 8,50,020.53 crore. State Bank of India’s valuation decreased by Rs 23,427.1 crore to Rs 7,70,149.39 crore, and Hindustan Unilever saw a decline of Rs 3,500.89 crore, resulting in a market cap of Rs 6,37,150.41 crore.

Despite these fluctuations, the rankings among the top firms remain stable, with Reliance Industries holding the top spot, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, State Bank of India, LIC, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC.
