Grasim Industries shares drop 2% after company reports incident at Karwar plant

Grasim Industries’ shares fell over 2% in early trading on January 11, 2025, following the announcement of a minor process safety incident at its Karwar plant in Karnataka. The incident, triggered by a power tripping-induced technical malfunction, led to a temporary halt in operations.

The company confirmed that workers affected by the incident were quickly treated at a local hospital and are expected to recover fully. Grasim emphasized that all emergency protocols were promptly activated to handle the situation effectively.

As a precautionary measure, operations at the Karwar plant have been temporarily suspended to allow for a thorough internal investigation. The plant will only resume operations once clearance is received from the relevant regulatory authorities.

Grasim Industries shares opened at ₹2,329.95, reaching a high of ₹2,348.20 and a low of ₹2,311.85. The stock’s 52-week high stands at ₹2,877.75, while its 52-week low is ₹2,016.55.
