The new service, launched in collaboration with Orange Health Labs, allows users to book lab tests, schedule and track appointments, and access digital reports—all via the Amazon app. This move adds diagnostics to Amazon Medical’s existing portfolio, which already includes Amazon Pharmacy and Amazon Clinic.

The entry of a tech giant like Amazon is expected to intensify competition in the diagnostics sector, which has so far been dominated by players like Dr Lal PathLabs and Metropolis.

Dr Lal PathLabs recently reported an 81.4% year-on-year surge in Q4 FY25 net profit to ₹155 crore, with revenue rising 10.5% YoY to ₹603 crore.

Meanwhile, Metropolis Healthcare posted a 19% decline in Q4 FY25 net profit to ₹29 crore, despite a 4.2% rise in revenue to ₹345 crore. The board also reappointed Ameera Shah as Chairperson and Surendran Chemmenkotil as Managing Director.
