
CDSL shares rose by 4% in today’s trading session as the company’s bonus issue took effect. The stock has gained up to 6% post-adjustment.
Earlier, CDSL announced a 1:1 bonus issue, meaning shareholders will receive one additional share for every share held as of the record date, August 24. Shares are trading with gains ahead of this date and have risen in 10 of the last 12 trading sessions.
Investors who held CDSL shares in their demat accounts at the end of trading on Thursday are eligible for the bonus shares. The bonus issue was approved by shareholders at the company’s Annual General Meeting last week.
A recent report from Motilal Oswal highlighted that CDSL continues to expand its market share, with the total number of demat accounts reaching 167 million as of July 2024.
