Britannia shares surge over 7% on positive Q4 earnings

Britannia Industries shares surged over 7% on May 6 after reporting fourth-quarter earnings in line with estimates. The company’s volume growth exceeded expectations, contributing to the rise in share value.

The regulatory filing further indicates that in the March quarter, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 536.61 crore, which is a 3.76% decline from the previous year’s Rs 557.60 crore. At the same time, the company’s total revenue reached Rs 4,069.36 crore, which is a 1.14% increase from Rs 4,023.18 crore the previous year.

Sequentially, the net profit saw a 3.2% decline from Q3FY24, standing at Rs 556.39 crore. Similarly, the revenue witnessed a 4.2% decrease from Q3FY24, reaching Rs 4,126.70 crore.

As of 12:10 PM, the shares of Britannia Industries were trading 7.77% higher at ₹5,113.35 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
