
Broking firm Angel One’s client data got breached and was accessible in an unauthorised manner, the company said on Friday morning. The incident of security breach has left its investors and users with concerns over safety of their funds, accounts etc as the company deals with securities in the public markets.
“The Company has received emails on April 20, 2023 claiming unauthorised access of clients’ data. We are in the process of verifying the veracity of such claims, which suggest that certain client profile data (like name, email, mobile number); and client holding data may have been accessed in an unauthorized manner,” the company said in an exchange filing on Friday.
The company further said that such breach does not have any impact on client securities, funds and credentials; and all client accounts are secure. The data, claimed to have been accessed, cannot be used for any transactions.
“We are working on measures to identify the source of the breach. Meanwhile, our current infrastructure has been validated to prevent any further unauthorised access,” the company added.
