Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) shares climbed by over nearly 3% in early trade following the announcement of its provisional Q3 operational performance. The company demonstrated substantial progress in its transmission and distribution businesses, alongside advancements in renewable energy and smart metering projects.

Transmission Network

• Added 225 circuit kilometers (ckm) during Q3 FY25, extending the total network to 26,485 ckm, reflecting consistent project execution.
• Power transformation capacity surged to 84,286 MVA, a 54% YoY growth from 54,661 MVA.

Distribution Business

• Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML):
  • Achieved 99.9% supply reliability with units sold increasing by 3% YoY to 2,574 million units.
  • Distribution loss improved to 4.66%, outperforming regulatory norms.
• Mundra Utility Ltd (MUL):
  • Recorded a remarkable 30% YoY growth in units sold, reaching 236 million units.

Smart Metering Projects

• Expanded the pipeline to 22.8 million smart meters across nine contracts, tapping into a market opportunity of 101 million meters.

Renewable Energy Integration

• Renewable power share in the Mumbai circle increased to 36%, progressing towards the 60% target by FY27.

Major Business Wins

• Secured two significant projects:
  • Khavda Phase IV Part-D valued at Rs 3,455 crore.
  • Rajasthan Phase III Part-I, the company’s largest win to date, valued at approximately Rs 25,000 crore.
• The under-construction project pipeline surged to Rs 54,700 crore, a significant jump from Rs 17,000 crore at the start of FY25.
