In a forward-looking interim Budget 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman underscores the potential of spiritual tourism, particularly in burgeoning destinations like Ayodhya following the inauguration of the Ram Temple.
Highlighting the entrepreneurial prospects within the spiritual tourism sector, Sitharaman expressed optimism about its significant growth. She announced, “States will be encouraged to undertake comprehensive development of iconic tourist centers, branding, and marketing them at a global scale.”
Acknowledging India’s economic prowess, the Finance Minister noted that the country has become an attractive hub for business and conference tourism. She added, “Now, our middle class also aspires to travel and explore. The success of organizing G20 meetings presented the diversity of India to grow the audience.”
