SBI account holders to link their PAN-Aadhar card latest by September 30

“We advise our customers to link their PAN with Aadhaar to avoid any inconvenience and continue enjoying a seamless banking service.” The bank said in a tweet.

State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday informed account holders that they need to link their PAN and Aadhar card by September 30, for seamless banking services.

The tweet further stated that if it is not linked, the PAN card will be rendered inactive and cannot be quoted for conducting specified transactions.

“PAN provided by you to SBI Card will be deemed inoperative from 1st October 2021, if it is not linked to your Aadhaar number by the above-mentioned date.” The bank stated on its website.

According to Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961, every person who has been allotted a PAN, and who is eligible to obtain an Aadhaar number, is required to intimate his Aadhaar number to the income tax authorities.

Any failure to do so will make the PAN inoperative till the date that the Aadhaar number is intimated or linked. 

Here are the steps to link PAN card using internet banking

  1. Log in to www.onlinesbi.com
  2.  Navigate to” Profile-PAN Registration“ under “My Accounts”, appearing on the left panel of the screen.
  3. On the next page, select the Account number, input the PAN number and click on submit.

Your request will be forwarded to the branch for processing. The branch will process your request in 7 days. The status of mapping will be advised to you on your registered mobile number.
