
Massive news for Chennai commuters as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an allocation of Rs 63,000 crore for Chennai Metro in Union Budget 2021. This new budget allocation is expected to speed up the metro train project.
The Finance Minister also announced that new technologies like Metro lite and Metro Neo will be launched for smaller cities to boost transport and connectivity. Along with this, as many as 2.8 crore households now have access to the electricity
The Finance Minister said that the Budget proposals for 2021-22 rest on six pillars –health and well-being, physical and financial capital and infrastructure, inclusive development for aspirational India, reinvigorating human capital, innovation and R&D, minimum government, and maximum governance.
