Commercial Gas users get relief as LPG prices cut by almost Rs 40

State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) made a significant cut in the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders, reducing them by Rs 39.50 per cylinder. These new prices will be effective starting today, December 22.However, it’s important to note that there have been no alterations in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.

A break down of the revised rates for commercial LPG cylinders in different metro cities. In Delhi, a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will now be priced at Rs 1,757, while in Kolkata, it will cost Rs 1,868. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the price stands at Rs 1,710, and in Chennai, it’s set at Rs 1,929.

This reduction in prices follows a previous cut that happened on November 17 when OMCs had slashed prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by up to Rs 57.5 per cylinder.

The state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) typically adjust cooking gas and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices on the 1st of each month, based on the average international price from the previous month.

“Facing the challenge of soaring crude oil prices, the Modi government has taken proactive measures to shield citizens from the economic impact. Through strategic planning and policy initiatives, the government has aimed to stabilize fuel prices, ensuring minimal impact on consumers,” the official statement said.
