Ratan Tata is a famous industrialist, philanthropist, and former chairman of the Tata group, founded by his great-grandfather Jamshedji Tata.

Born on the 28th of December, 1937 in Surat, his full name is Ratan Naval Tata.

He got his first job in the year 1961. Ratan Tata’s first job was managing operations on the shop floor of Tata steel.

There’s one interesting fact about the ineffable businessman that might leave you awestruck. Ratan’s also a skilled pilot. In 2007, he achieved the position of the first Indian to fly an F-16 Falcon.

Ratan Tata is such an adored and appreciated name when it comes to businesses and industries. Under his supervision and leadership, the Tata group witnessed a gigantic expansion as the company acquired Tetley and Jaguar Land Rover respectively by Tata tea & Tata Motors.

Tata did believe that the woman he loved would arrive in India and then, they’d get married. But due to the outbreak of the Indo-China war in 1962, his parents refused and it made the relationship fall apart. And the businessman remains unmarried since then.

Ratan Tata was even awarded the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year in Business, later he was adorned with the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, too.
