1. Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah- Dil Dhadajne Do (2015)
Cast as Kamal and Neelam in the movie, Anil Kapoor and Shefali shah’s characters portrayed a marriage life that turned sour. It showed the drifting apart of the couple and something that is put up only by themselves and their children. Their acting skills seemed so emotionally deserving of their own story of their past life. This strong duo portrayed on the screen overpowered their character role than the rest.
2. Richa Chadda-Fukrey(2013)
Richa Chadda’s character, Bholi Punjaban is a fan-favorite character from Fukrey. Her Delhi accent along with her carefree attitude of her’s spelled wonders for her character’s persona. This managed to overshadow some of the other characters that had far more screen time than her.
3. Pankaj Tripathi-Masaan(2015)
Pankaj Tripathi always plays the best supporting actor and portrays his role in a flawless versatile manner. It just took a couple of scenes for us to fall in love with his character in Masaan. With the overall emotional heartbreaking narrative of the film, Sadhya Ji, played by Pankaj Tripathi, was like a ray of sunshine in the movie during his conversations with Richa Chadda’s character, Devi Pathak. Not only this but his character role in ‘Mili’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ ‘Stree’, and many more had his role overshadow the rest of the characters.
4. Deepak Dobriyal- Tanu Weds Manu(2011)
Playing the role of Pappi Ji, Deepak Dobriyal transformed from a mere supporting actor to a character that we look forward to watching in scene after scene. His adventures of overpowering his character’s role not only bind with this movie but also can be seen in ‘Delhi 6’, and ‘Hindi Medium’.
5. Siddharth Chaturvedi-Gully Boy(2019)
The gully rap of Siddharth Chaturvedis character-MC Sher resonated very well with the audiences and they also have been demanding more of the characters.MC Sher was loosely based on the life of Rapper Naezy.Props to Siddharth Chaturvedi for delivering such a memorable performance in his debut film Gully Boy, as one of the best-supporting characters in movies.
