Martyrs of 26/11 attack are alive in hearts, internet remembers heroes and victims

A big heartbreaking attack happened in the dream city of India, after which every Indian live has a hoped to never see a day like this again. 26/11 is still imprinted in the hearts of every Indian. It’s been 12 years but we still can’t forget this shocking experience that had left many families in tears. Today, we look up to pay respect and tribute to all the heroes who put their country first and gave their lives selflessly

Paying homage to the martyrs of the 26/11 attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Office tweeted in Hindi, “Today is associated with the biggest terrorist attack on the country. In 2008, terrorists from Pakistan attacked Mumbai. Many Indians died in this attack. People from many more countries were killed. I pay my respects to all those killed in the Mumbai attack.”

“Today I also pay obeisance to our security forces who are trying to defend India, who are thwarting the conspiracy like Mumbai attack, in a small area,” a second tweet by PMO.

“Many of our police force’s martyrs were also killed in this attack. I bow to them. Today’s India is combating terrorism with new policy-new method,” PMO said in another tweet.

On the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 attack, many leaders and paid their tribute and respect to all the soldiers who lost their lives defending the country. Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh saluted the courage of the police personnel and conveyed their condolence to families of all those who died on the night of November 26, 2008.

“My heartfelt tributes to those people who lost their lives in the dastardly terror attack on Mumbai city this day back in 2008. I salute the courage of those individuals and security personnel who saved many lives with their valiant efforts and sacrifice” Rajnath Singh tweeted.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray Maharastra and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari paid homage to victims of the 26/11 terror attack on its 12th anniversary at the Mumbai Police Headquarters’ martyrs’ memorial.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Nitin Gadkari also paid their tributes to victims of the 26/11 terror attack.

“Heartfelt tributes to the victims and martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack and salute to the strength and resilience of people of Mumbai. We will be eternally grateful to all the security forces personnel who valiantly fought and made the supreme sacrifice for Mother India on that day,” Goyal tweeted.

Renowned industrialist Ratan Tata took to Instagram, shared an illustration of the Taj Hotel and paid tribute to the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and also expressed his pride, unity, and kindness of Mumbaikar and Mumbai will shine in years ahead.

“The wanton destruction that took place 12 years ago today will never be forgotten. But what is more memorable, is the way Mumbai as a diverse people came together, casting aside all differences, to vanquish the terrorism and destruction on that day. Today, we certainly can mourn the ones we lost and honour the sacrifice of the brave who helped conquer the enemy, but what we must applaud, is the unity and the acts of kindness and sensitivity which we should cherish, and which hopefully, will continue to shine in the years ahead,” Tata wrote.

 

Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan tweeted, “Let’s remember all the brave ones who laid down their lives in service of others. Thinking about those who lost their loved ones too. #MumbaiTerrorAttack.”

Many Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Shilpa Shetty, Varun Dhawan paid their respect through heartfelt messages.

Akshay Kumar took to Twitter saying, “26/11, a day Mumbaikars will never forget. My heartfelt tribute to the martyrs and victims of the #MumbaiTerrorAttack. We will forever be indebted to our brave hearts for their supreme sacrifice.”

Israelis and Indian students also paid respects to the victims of 26/11 in Jerusalem, Rehovot and Tel Aviv.

French ambassador Emmanuel Lenain said in the memory of victims. “12 years after the horrific Mumbai Terror Attacks, France pays tribute to the memory of the victims. France and India stand together in combating terrorism,” Lenain said.

 

On November 26, 2008, ten Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists from Pakistan arrived via the sea route to Mumbai and opened fire, and attacked some of Mumbai’s famous landmarks. The incident that took place throughout four days in 6 areas in Mumbai killed 166 people and injured 300. Nine terrorists were killed by the security forces including the NSG, the elite commando force of the nation.
