Shantanu Maheshwari got the IIFA award for best debut (male) for his heart-warming performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2022 release, Gangubai Kathiawadi, was one such picture that truly ruled over the hearts of the audience with its fantastic story, performance, and a lot of other things. While the film demonstrated its worth by filling theatres in the post-pandemic era, it went on to become one of the year’s most successful films. After establishing a distinct presence around the corners, the film established its impact at the recently concluded 23rd IIFA awards, taking home honours in five categories.
