On Thursday around 11 a.m, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of multiple development projects. The projects are worth Rs 1,500 crore.
PM Narendra Modi while addressing the Public in Varanasi said that Kashi had shown that it did not stop or get tired even during difficult times and even though the past few months were difficult for the entire mankind.
PM Modi added that Kashi was becoming the large medical hub of Puruvanchal, and the facilities were being made available in Kashi for the disease treatments for which the people had to go to Delhi and Mumbai before.
He added that the work of installation of over 700 CCTV cameras and LED screens and information wards on Ghats were under work, this would lead to a massive boost to the tourism sector in Varanasi.
PM Modi mentioned that the Ro-Ro facilities that began today would help in the tourism sector of Kashi and would help it thrive further, the boatmen were given better facilities as well, the diesel boats were being converted to CNG which would bring down the expenses and would be for the betterment of the environment as well as would attract the tourists.
PM also said that the center was taking up a major decision for the empowerment of agricultural infrastructure and the Rs 1 Lakh crore special fund set up for the modern agriculture infrastructure would also benefit the decision.
Around 1 p.m, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Banaras Hindu University grounds in Varanasi. Where PM Modi inaugurated the Maternal and Child Health Wing in BHU. He visited the 100 bed maternal and child health wing at Banaras Hindu University.

This visit by PM Narendra Modi to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi was after a period of eight months and launched schemes worth Rs 1,583 crore in the city.

The inauguration of the International Cooperation and Convention Centre, Rudraksh, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was constructed with Japanese assistance. PM Modi inaugurated various development projects worth Rs 1500 crore in Varanasi. The key projects included a multi-level parking at Godaulia, Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development, and a three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway.
The foundation stone of Rudraksh was laid in the year 2018, with the help of Japan. Kashi has the importance of spirituality, literature, music, etc. UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that the inauguration of the Rudraksh convention center was a joyous moment.
PM Modi said that he couldn’t forget to mention Shinzo Abe who was his friend from Japan and he discussed his plan of Rudraksh when Mr. Shinzo Abe visited Kashi, and Mr. Abe instantly instructed his officials to work over the project. PM Modi thanked Japan PM Yoshihide Suga and Ambassador Satoshi Suzuki and said that Kashi received such a gift due to the efforts of then Chief Cabinet Secretary and now PM of Japan, Yoshihide, and had been personally involved in the project ever since.
PM Modi said that the project portrayed India-Japan ties and scope for future opportunities.
Yoshihide Suga said that PM Narendra Modi himself named the center as Rudraksh with the hope to make it a symbol of wisdom and that Mr. Suga himself hoped for this to be used as a stage to present close Japan-India ties through such events.
Mr. Suga in the video message said that on behalf of the Govt and the people of Japan, he conveyed his heartfelt congratulations on the inauguration of the Varanasi Cooperation and Convention Center.
