At 11:00 a.m. on Thursday the directors of various Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) shall be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Given the coronavirus disease pandemic, the event shall be taking place virtually and the Dharmendra Pradhan, the newly appointed Union education minister of India shall also have his presence on the occasion, as per a report released by The Indian Express.
To drop former education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal along with 11 others which include Paroshottam Rupala, Kiren Rijiju, Hardeep Singh puri and Anurag Thakur along with G Kishan Reddy, the event comes a day after the Prime Minister expanded his cabinet.
By following the mantras of self-confidence, selflessness and self-awareness, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the students to recognize their potential and move forward with confidence during his address at the 66th convocation ceremony of IIT Kharagpur in February. Mentioning that the engineers should be equipped with the capability to move things from patterns to patents he termed IIT as an ‘institute of indigenous technology’.
Further, he also mentioned that patience is required in everything that a person wants to do and what he wants to achieve while a technological failure shall always lead to innovation. He also said that there is no scope for hurry in the field of Science and technology and innovation.
