From an art aficionado, Shalini Passi gains overnight fame with reality show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives dropping on Netflix. She’s being touted for her candour and her maximalist fashion sense. Speaking to News18, Shalini opened up about Gauri Khan, the interior designer and wife of Shah Rukh Khan, who was ‘genuinely concerned’ for her after watching the show.
The feedback, she shared with the publication, has been special since the show went on air, especially from Gauri. Shalini remembers, “The most special reaction came from Gauri. She called me while I was in Bombay, just before Manish Malhotra’s Diwali party. She said, ‘I’ve seen it. It’s amazing. You’re incredible.’ She was genuinely concerned for me, and when she told me how much she loved the show, it really touched my heart. Gauri knows me better than most, so hearing that from her was very special.”
Shalini and Gauri have been friends since the days when Gauri was in Delhi before she got married to SRK. While fans were hailing Shalini’s performance on the show, they did worry when they saw her walk out of a couple of interview sessions with her colleagues twice recently.
Karan Johar, the producer of the show, has recently posted a video of co-actress Maheep Kapoor joking about how Shalini is getting all the limelight on the show. The filmmaker asks, “Shalini Passi is getting all the attention this season. Are you feeling threatened?” Maheep tried to snatch the phone Karan was pointing at her. Shalini reacted to Karan’s video, posting it in her Instagram stories and wrote, “Love these two (heart emoji).”
