Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is an Indian sitcom based on Taarak Mehta’s daily column “Duniya Ne Undha Chasma” in Chitralekha magazine. It is produced by Asit Kumar Modi. It premiered on July 28, 2008, aired on Sony SAB and is also available digitally on SonyLIV. The program holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running Indian daytime program by number of episodes.
Most of the cast has been involved continuously since the beginning. However, in recent years many TMKOC actors have left the show.
1. Disha Vakani
One of the most loved character in the whole show is Daya, played by Disha Vakani who played the role of Jehtalal’s wife. However, the actress has been missing from the show past many years and till date there has been no replacement found for this role. Meanwhile, it was reported that Disha Vakani wants to give her family some time.
2. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal
Jennifer Mistry recently announced her exit from the show, accusing producer Asit Kumar Modi of sexual harassment. However, the producer said the allegations are “baseless”
3. Raj Anadkat
Raj Anadkat who played the role of Tapu Gada recently confirmed his exit from the show and was further replaced by actor Nitish Bhaluni. His entry was packed with full energy.
4. Nidhi Bhanushali
Nidhi Bhanushali replaced Jheel Mehta. However, after a many years, she too left the show. As per reports, she had to quit the show since she went to abroad to pursue her further studies.
5. Shailesh Lodha
Shailesh Lodha who played the role of Taarak Mehta the writer, left the show a few months back, leaving the fans in shock. The makers replaced his role with actor Sachin Shroff. The makers decided to get the new actor during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
6. Neha Mehta
Neha Mehta played the role of Anjali Mehta, Tarak Mehta’s wife in the serial. She announced her exit from the show post pandemic when the shooting resumed again. She is now replaced by actor Sunayana Fozdar.
7. Gurucharan Singh
Gurucharan Singh aka Roshan Singh Sodhi also called it quits and has been away for a long time from the show.
8. Monika Bhadoriya
Monika Bhadoriya portrayed the role of Bawri, Bagha’s love interest in the show for several years and, later called it quits.
9. Jheel Mehta
Jheel Mehta aka Sonu Atmaram Bhide was first played by Jheel Mehta. She served for 4 consecutive years in the show and is the only girl in the Tapu sena. She then left the show for some other projects.
10. Bhavya Gandhi
Bhavya Gandhi was the first actor to play the role of Tapu Gada in the show. He later quit the show to pursue his interest in acting. As per reports, he had to leave the show as he had plans of pursuing acting in movies and was also offered a Gujarati film.
11. Laal Singh
Laal Singh replaced Gurucharam Singh to play the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the show for a small span of time.
12. Dilkhush
Dilkhush played the role of Roshan in the show when Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal went on a maternity break.
