Actress Divyanka Tripathi was in conversation for replacing Disha Vakani in Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma. Divyanka addressed this rumor in her recent interview with E-times as ‘baseless’ and ‘non-factual.’ She said, “It’s a fabulous show with a great fan following but I don’t think I’ll be keen on doing it. I am looking for a fresh concept and new challenge.”
Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma has been one of the most loved television serials in India. Disha Vakani, who used to play the role of Dayaben, went for her maternity leave in 2017. She has shown no signs of return, yet. Several actresses were speculated for being replaced by Disha Vakani but none of those were confirmed. Director Asit Modi stated that they will soon find a replacement for the character if Disha decides to quit.
The actress, Divyanka is currently busy shooting for Khatron ke Khiladi Season 11. In an interview with indianexpress.com, the actress said that it was her dream to be on this show. “This show has been like a dream for years — action, adventure, stunts, everything that I had done years back while I was in Bhopal. Over the years, you tend to drift away and I remember telling Vivek (husband) many times that I have changed as a person. This is why I really wanted to do this. I know I have my fears and limitations but I actually grabbed the offer,” she said.
