Ankit Gupta in yesterday’s episode of Bigg Boss season 16, while fighting with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary had mentioned in his fit of rage that he is here in Bigg Boss house for another one of maximum one-and-a-half months, then he’ll be leaving the show any way.
Now, this might refer to MG, which is short for Minimum Guarantee. MG basically means minimum time period that select few contestants get to stay inside the Bigg Boss house during the entire tenure of the season. That means, the makers of the most controversial show of the country, Bigg Boss, will not eliminate the contestants until their Minimum Guarantee is valid, which would have been negotiated during the signing of their contract.
Now, viewers might get confused about the voting procedure for elimination of contestants from Bigg Boss. Well, as revealed by The Great Khali, voting in Bigg Boss is just a farce to show to the audience that they are in charge of who stays in the house and who doesn’t.
But, actually It’s the makers from the production house, Endemol Shine and Channel, Colors Tv, who decide who will be eliminated and when. They make these decisions on many factors like which contestant is the face of Colors Tv, which contestant has what kind of Minimum Guarantee (MG), and also, of course, which contestant is performing how well inside the Bigg Boss house during any particular season.
It all boils down to, who’s fetching how much TRP for the show at how much cost of their own personality. Therefore, when Ankit said, “mere toh dedh do hafte aur reh gaye hain,” he might have mistakenly mentioned about his MG.
