Jaya Bachchan ,Samajwadi Party MP and veteran actor, has called out Hindi-Bhojpuri actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan over his ‘drug addiction’ comment in Lok Sabha yesterday. Today, on day two of the monsoon session, Jaya Bachchan called Kishan’s statement a ‘shame’ as he, too, belongs to the industry and added that an act by few celebs cannot sabotage the entire industry’s image. Speaking in Rajya Sabha, Jaya Bachchan said, “Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame.”

Kangana Ranaut known for a quick retorts , tweeted and asked Jaya Bachchan to show some compassion asking her whether she would say the same if her daughter Shweta and son Abhishek were in a similar position.Her tweet read,”Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also 🙏”

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut has been home quarantined for 10 days at her Manali residence post her return from Mumbai as per the state government’s pandemic protocol.
