Shah Rukh Khan plans to add new floors to Mannat at cost of Rs. 25 crore: reports

Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly planning to add two more floors to his iconic residence, Mannat, in Mumbai. The mansion currently has two basements, a ground floor, and six additional floors. As reported by Hindustan Times, the superstar’s wife Gauri Khan has filed an application with the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA), seeking permission to add two additional floors to residence, which shall add another 616.02 sq. metres of area.

The report also suggested that the overall cost of the project is Rs. 25 crore. A committee headed by principal secretary (Environment) Pravin Darade will decide on Gauri’s application on Wednesday.

Mannat was previously known as Villa Vienna, Shah Rukh Khan filmed a scene for the movie Yes Boss at Bandstand, and developed a fondness for the heritage building, built in 1914 by Nariman K Dubash. He bought the property in 2001, and due to its status of Grade Three Heritage, the actor was not allowed to make much changes to it. He built the six storey structure known as Mannat Annexe behind it.
