Actor Rajinikanth will attend the oath-taking ceremony of PM-designate Narendra Modi on Sunday, marking a significant political event. Rajinikanth, who will shortly arrive in the national capital, emphasized that Modi assuming office for the third time is a monumental achievement and a positive sign for democracy.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Forecourt in Delhi. Earlier today, Rajinikanth was spotted leaving his Chennai residence to head to Delhi. Speaking to reporters at the airport, he extended his congratulations to Modi. “I am going to take part in the swearing-in ceremony… It is a very historic event… Assuming office for the third consecutive term is Narendra Modi’s big achievement, my hearty greetings to him. People have elected a robust opposition which is a healthy sign for democracy,” Rajinikanth remarked.
When asked about his expectations for the next five years, Rajinikanth expressed optimism, stating that he anticipates good governance.
Narendra Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term on Sunday, June 9, following the NDA’s majority win in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. The grand event is set to begin at 7:15 pm at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Forecourt.
According to officials, over 8,000 guests, including various professionals and cultural performers, will attend the ceremony. The guest list has been kept compact, considering the upcoming G7 meeting in Italy, which Modi will attend later in the week, reported ANI, citing sources. After the ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu will host a banquet for the dignitaries at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth has an exciting lineup of films. He will soon be seen in TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan, set for an October release, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati. Additionally, he will resume shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. The film’s announcement teaser has already received a positive response from fans.
