The Night Manager, a spy thriller starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor, debuted its trailer on Friday. In a big event in Alibaug, the show’s cast and producers unveiled the trailer. The Night Manager is a remake of the British television series based on John Le Carre’s best-selling novel of the same name.

With The Night Manager, Aditya Roy Kapur makes his OTT debut. Anil Kapoor plays the lead in the programme as well. The trailer for the show has finally been released by the producers, and it looks thrilling after the first look which was released on January 9.

Aditya is seen attempting to escape in the opening scene of the trailer. Then, Anil Kapoor’s Shailendra “Shelly” Rungta, a cunning, evil arms dealer on the Indian intelligence’s radar, is introduced to us. The night manager of a hotel named Shaan is planted by the authorities as a mole in Rungta’s company (played by Aditya).

Shaan is pulled to his girlfriend (Sobhita Dhulipala) while he works to learn more about Shelly’s wrongdoings, which could jeopardise his investigation. The central theme of the show is how he strikes a balance between his obligations and his emotions. Fans’ reactions to the trailer were mixed, with some appreciating the leads and the production values and others criticising the creators for “yet another remake.”

One fan commented, “After a long time watching a very promising trailer from Bollywood.” Another wrote, “Visuals awesome hai iske. (Visuals are awesome here).” Others were less welcoming. “The original is just magnificent. Should not have been remade,” wrote one viewer. Another argued, “I hope someday Bollywood would come up with their own originals than remake.”

In the original British series, Tom Hiddleston played a night manager who posed as a police informant and infiltrated the company of a weapons dealer (Hugh Laurie). The leads received appreciation from the critics.

In the Sandeep Modi-directed film The Night Manager, Tillotama Shome, Saswata Chatterjee, and Ravi Behl also appear. The Ink Factory and Banijay Asia are the series’ producers, and Priyanka Ghosh is a co-director. On February 17, it will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
