The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s fifth and final season’s official trailer was made available on Amazon Video on Monday.
According to the official logline, Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) “finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.”
With regard to her stand-up comedic career, Midge says, “It’s two steps forward, three steps back, and I’m tired of it.”
The trailer teases several “big break” opportunities, such as major late-night television roles and blockbuster shows, in addition to a lot of shenanigans, including a llama in a hotel room, Tony Shalhoub acting very frustrated, and Midge’s manager Susie (Alex Borstein) acting like her typical, delightfully uncouth self.
Yet, according to Amazon Video, “Midge finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.” The fifth season’s narrative has been kept a secret.
The series stars include Rachel Brosnahan, Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, Reid Scott, Alfie Fuller, and Jason Ralph. It was created, written, directed, and executive produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino.
On April 14, the first three episodes of the season will air. From then until the May 26 series finale, one new episode will air every Friday.
