Karan Johar’s popular franchise Student of The Year is set to expand its universe beyond two feature films, as a new series is in development. As per reports, Dharma Productions’ digital wing will be producing the web series, and will helmed by Reema Maya.
It has been learned that Shanaya Kapoor, who made her debut with Dharma Productions’ Bedhadak, will be one of the leading ladies in the upcoming drama series. In the latest development, Alaya F is reportedly joining the franchise as second female lead.
While the official announcement is awaited, the reports by Bollywood Hungama have suggested that Alaya and Shanaya will be coming together for the teenage drama series. It must be noted that the cast and the platform for Student Of The Year series is yet to be officially revealed by Dharma Productions’ digital wing Dharmatic Entertainment.
Earlier, Karan had confirmed that Student Of The Year 3 is under development at the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Punjab.
For those unversed, KJo launched the franchise in 2012 which also marked debut for all of its leading cast – Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra. Seven years later, the sequel introduced Ananya Panday and Tania Sutaria alongside Tiger Shroff.
