Poonam Pandey, who is currently a contestant on the digital reality programme ‘Lock Upp,’ recently told out about the troubled upbringing she faced and how she came to be the way she is.
In one of the leaked clicks posted by ALT Balaji on her Twitter account which majorly features her, she spoke about hardships faced in childhood because of being from a poor family.

She recalls how was discriminated against by all teachers because she was unable to submit fees. She said, “Sab upar baith kr padte the, main niche baith kr padhti thi. Blackboard ke niche baithti thi. Bahut style se baithti thi, mujhe bura nhi lagta tha. Ek do baar bura lga tha jab teacher mereko maarti thi na school bhar nhi rhe, main uske liye bahut maar khaayi hu.”
She then told how her mother used to work all day and she had to take care of the household chores and her younger sister. “Ab meri maa bechaari mehnat kr hi hai, 8-9 ghante us waqt tailoring karti thi jab mai school me thi. To tabhi meri khud choti behen thi, usko school se laana, school choorna, ghar ka poora khana banana, uske exam lejaane. Mamma papa dono log.”
She added, “Babita ji, aisa time the na ki hamare ghar pe ki hamko roz ka khana. Aaj naseeb tha, kal naseeb hoga ki nhi hoga. To hm har din koshish krte the aaj ka khana ke. Aisa waqt hota ki kabhi sirf chawal hota tha daal nhi hoti thi or kuch to chawal uske saath garam krke paani daalti thi namak ka paani. To chawal or namak ka paani hm log khaate the ki pett bhar jae bs.”
She also taunts those call her bad by explaining what she did to her family. She said, Or mereko ye log bahut bolte hai ki accha ye to iski parvarish sahi nhi hogi, kaise photo daalti hai, kaisi baatein karti hogi. Isko to matlab… Nahi mujhe paiso ki zaroorat thi kyuki mai akeli thi mere ghar pr mere… Mujhe mere poore pariwar ko palaana tha to maine jo bhi kiya meri family ke liye kiya. Aaj meri behen lawyer hai, maine meri behen ko padha likha kr badaa kiya hai, maine mere bhai ko settle kiya hai. Aaj mera bhai khud apne pairo pr khada hai meri behen apne pairo pe khadi hai. To maine agar wo kiya hai apni family ke liye kiya hai or phir main Poonam Pandey hu to phir bolo mujhe.
Babita then told her that she understands her and why she was like that.
Poonam Pandey appears to be making the most of her opportunity to use Kangana Ranaut hosted ‘Lock Upp’ as a platform to express herself in a unique way.
