‘Jogi’ featuring Diljit Doshanjh is all set to hit the big screens on 16th September 2022

The film ‘Jogi’ that was shot during the first wave of Covid 19 finally got it’s release date. 

Punjabi Singer and Actor Diljit Dosanjh unravels about his next project to be with Ali Abbas Zafar featuring on Netflix. The film that was shot during the first wave of Covid 19 finally got it’s release date.

Few of the statements regarding the film by the actor himself inform the title of the film Jogi is the name of the protagonist of the film which is being performed by Diljit himself as a lead character.

The Hindi film has its setting in Delhi and narrates a story of resilient friendship and bravery in the times of adversity and hostility. It’s a portrayal of thrilling,  emotional journey of the fighting spirit of three unified friends.

‘Jogi’ will hit the screen only on Netflix in over 190 countries on September 16, 2022.

Dosanjh is glad that the film will open in the OTT space. “It’s such a right move. Coming on an OTT platform will widen the reach of the story, and that has been the reason for me to do this project” he says.

Diljit affirms that the relevance of the film is still vivid in the contemporary time and will thus be impactful and impressive. He shares the film is very close to him as it encompasses his emotions and personal affairs.
“The year of my birth is 1984 as well. I have grown up hearing about real life experiences and stories about the riots and the era. In fact, I had even made a Punjabi film, Punjab 1984, sometime back, which won a National Film Award as well. So, the subject is really important for me, and Ali sir has picked the right story,” Dosanjh said.

“Playing the role of Jogi has been one of the most fulfilling experiences and I am excited for my digital debut on Netflix. The entire team has worked really hard to bring to life this beautiful story and I want to thank Ali and Himanshu for trusting me with this role. I am looking forward to audiences watching our film and showing their love.” Diljit added.
