Family Man 2: This Tamil actor files lawsuit against Manoj Bajpayee’s latest series

A Tamil actor and politician has declared in a tweet that he will go to court to prevent The Family Man 2 from airing.

On Saturday, actor-politician Seeman turned to Twitter to seek legal action against the second season of The Family Man, which is presently available on Amazon Prime. In his statement, he has asked the Tamil Nadu government to intervene and prohibit the anti-Tamil show.

When the show’s trailer was aired on May 21, Seeman requested a ban for slandering Tamils. Seeman had previously requested a ban to the release of John Abraham’s Madras Café in Tamil Nadu for similar reasons.

On Saturday, he issued a statement stating why he believes legal action should be done against the show.

In his tweet, he wrote in Tamil. “We will take legal and democratic action to ban the anti-Tamil internet series The Family Man 2! and stop it!” says the translation.

His statement went on to say that the show depicted Sri Lankan Tamils negatively.

Manoj Bajpayee starred in the Raj & DK show, and Samantha Akkineni plays a Sri Lankan Tamil guerrilla in the second season. The show premiered on Amazon Prime on June 4th.

Since the show’s premiere, some netizens have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure with it. The hashtag #Family Man 2 vs. Tamils started trending on Twitter.
