One of the most anticipated K-Dramas on Netflix is “All of Us Are Dead,” and its intense survival drama, emotionally charged relationships, and raw teenage angst have captivated the world with its realistic depiction of a zombie apocalypse at a high school. Season 2 is highly anticipated by fans as it will show different types of zombies, more extensive chaos throughout the city of Seoul, emotional reunions among characters, moral dilemmas between characters, and, of course, the continuing fight against the virus will raise the stakes for all the characters involved, compared to the first season ending in 2022 on a cliffhanger.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Release Date Speculations
On June 6, 2022, Netflix made it official that it has renewed the series “All of Us Are Dead” for a second season as part of its “Geeked Week,” but there has been a lot of time before starting production. Filming for the show was delayed multiple times to allow for better quality, but filming finally started in July of 2025. Filming should finish by mid-February 2026. There will be additional filming locations as well, in places such as Gangwon.
Even though the filming is moving along steadily, there is still no official release date for the show. The show has a lot of “computer-generated graphics” and post-production, especially with zombies, and therefore, it is safe to say there won’t be a quick turnaround for the show. Previously, it was estimated that the show would premiere in late 2026 (possibly in December), but because of the absence of the second season on Netflix’s confirmed 2026 year-end schedule, it has changed everyone’s expectations of the premiere.
The consensus among both industry insiders and fans alike now is that some sort of premiere in early 2027 (possibly during the spring of 2027) is going to be the most reasonable estimate for the new season’s release date. This length of time would allow for enough time to complete the rest of post-production and have a successful marketing campaign and a successful International distribution campaign for the second season. All these delays show that Netflix is trying to be more selective with how it handles the material instead of being fast to get out new shows.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Expected Cast
Several key characters from Season 1 are confirmed to return, including:
- Park Ji-hu as Nam On-jo
- Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san (his return strongly suggests survival despite Season 1’s ending)
- Cho Yi-hyun as Choi Nam-ra
- Lomon (Park Solomon) as Lee Su-hyeok
Season 2 also introduces new cast members, expanding the world beyond Hyosan High:
- Lee Min-jae
- Kim Si-eun
- Roh Jae-won (notably from Squid Game)
- Yoon Ga-i
There have also been reports of Roh Yoon-seo joining the cast, though this has not been fully confirmed. Behind-the-scenes table-read photos hint at a larger ensemble and a noticeably darker tone compared to Season 1.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Potential Plot
Season two will deviate from the high school setting and take place several years later, following the original outbreak. The focus will be on a larger setting (Seoul National University) with characters at an older age living in a world where the virus has been contained but not completely eradicated
According to Director Lee Jae-kyoo, the virus will have progressed and become much more intelligent and adaptable than when the original outbreak happened, allowing for much morally complex storytelling involving “hambies” or half-zombies.
The creators have also stated there will be an increased level of emotional stakes, a higher level of chaos, and deeper conflicts between and within all characters (both new and returning), with betrayals, loss of life, and making tough decisions.
While Netflix has been very tight-lipped about the official plot details, everything indicates that Season Two will be much darker than Season One and much broader in scope as to how society responds to surviving the outbreak and its consequences.
