Billboard Music Awards 2021, hosted by Nick Jonas, was the biggest night of The Weekend bagging 10 awards. The Weeknd won the top 10 awards at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, including the top artists’ trophy presented as the climax of the night, followed by the late Pop Smoke with five, and Bad Bunny and BTS with four awards each.
Drake won the Artist of the Decade award and Pink won the Icon Award. Drake accepted the award with his son Adonis wearing a Tom Ford suit. Other prominent performers include BTS, the Weekend, Doja Cat, and SZA.
By accepting one of several awards on camera in the early evening, The Weeknd has promised a change in style that will come in the form of his album and performance. ” The after-hours are done and the dawn is coming,” he promised his fans. He made a pun after commencing in a slender spiritual approach at a different point. “I’d like to thank God… that I don’t have to wear that red suit anymore,” he added.
Following an opening video, Drake said, “That video was full of a lot of confidence and bravado, but the truth is, I’m really bad at taking compliments… I’m self-conscious about my music, and even if I do a good job, I always wonder how I could have done it better. I rarely celebrate anything. And just for anyone watching this, that’s wondering how this happened, that’s the answer: being so unsure how you’re getting it done that you just kind of keep going in the hopes of figuring out the formula.” He defined himself as “feeling so lucky and blessed that the fear of losing it keeps you up at night.
