The chartbuster ‘Pasoori,’ first recorded by Paskitani vocalists Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, is a global hit, not just in India or the bordering countries. The song has been so popular that it has been reworked as ‘Pasoori Nu’ in the upcoming film ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’.
The decision, however, failed to excite netizens, who believe that the famous number should not be tampered with. This is not, however, the first time ‘Pasoori’ has been redone.
Few people realise that the first time ‘Pasoori’ was remade was not in India, but in Africa.
Yes, you read that correctly! Marwan Moussa, Reekado Banks, and none other than Ali Sethi performed a remix rendition of ‘Pasoori’ at Coke Studio Africa.
In the music video named ‘Pasoori Remix,’ which was released in 2022, the Pakistani singer was seen sharing the stage alongside Moussa and Banks.
He also promoted the remix version on social media, and admirers lauded the singer’s achievement.
Meanwhile, the ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ version of the song has been renamed ‘Pasoori Nu,’ and it was released on Monday amid considerable anticipation and intrigue.
Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar performed the song, which stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. Gurpreet Saini wrote the new lyrics, and Sethi has been awarded credit for both the lyrics and the music.
‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ will be released in theatres on June 29.
