
London Indian Film Festival is one of the most looked upon gathering to celebrate cinema in Europe. The two films to be screened at prestigious London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) and Birmingham Indian Film Festival (BIFF) this year are Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s ‘Roam Rome Mein‘ and Vidya Balan’s short film-‘Natkhat’. Roam Rome Mein is a directorial debut by Tannishtha Chatterjee whereas Natkhat is produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, film Roam Rome Mein is about a brother who travels to Rome in search of his sister who had been moved out to seek her freedom from her conservative father. The film smoothly puts up the patriarchal context of the society as whole. On a similar note, Vidya Balan starring short film-Natkhat also addresses obstinate yet sensitive topics like domestic violence, prevailing patriarchy, gender inequality, rape culture. The film is directorial debut of Shaan Vyas and is written by Annukampa Harsh whereas produced by Sanaya Irani Zohrabi.
