Srijit Mukherji’s film “Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga” is all set to hit the theatre screens on June 24.

Srijit Mukherji’s second Bollywood film titled “Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga” is all set to release on June 24, the makers of the film made an announcement on Wednesday. Srijit’s film is inspired and is based on the true events, the film is billed up as a ‘dark humour laced satire’. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta in pivotal roles. The storyline of the film is based upon the adverse effects of urbanisation, man-animal conflict, and poverty that is leading to a bizarre practice in a village that is located on the edge of a forest.

The director said, that his inspiration behind the making of the film came from a real incident that is caused by ‘tragic practices’ in villages bordering the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. The filmmaker further said it takes great courage to sacrifice one’s life to save the family and my film revolves around this heroism with a focus on man and nature conflict. This subject is really close to my heart and I hope it will ignite the same emotions with the audiences regarding various social issues in our society.” Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment and production by Match Cut Productions.  “Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga” is Srijit’s second Bollywood film after the release of period drama film ‘Begum Jaan’, starring Vidya Balan back in 2017.
